Sounds to me like to need to Install the Yahoo toolbar so that you have a "pop blocker" on you're system, its a great feature.

the secret question answer,zip code, birth date etc you used when you signed up was to protect your account from hackers


they are a part of yahoo security and required info to make account changes


with out that info you can not get in the account to make changes

Not really, but it might be best to use an alias. Lets say your name is Robert Ahern. Instead of using that use something like R.Ahern, Robert A., Robah. Let those you want to know what your using so they will recognize your mail when they receive it.
